Colonial History: The Ottoman empire had control over the majority of Albania for a long time, but it was colonized by Italy. Italians colonized to promote agricultural development while other Italians went to Albania to build shelter and roads. Most of the Italian men were a part of the Albanian militia, which was a fascist group that later recruited Albanians as well.
Major Attractions: Berat (Berat, Albania) – The city of Berat is located in the middle of the country. It’s one of the oldest and continuously inhabited cities. In the past it was built as a castle and is erected at the hill. This town is a good place for people who love history as it is known as the, “City of Museums.”
