Colonial History: Serbia was colonized by the Greeks during Alexander the Great's reign in the 4th century BC. In the 2nd century BC, Serbia was conquered by the Roman empire and they established many cities, such as Sirmium. Of course, like most countries in this region, the Ottoman empire had control of the country. Serbia remained under Ottoman rule until the fall of the empire.
Major Attractions: Zlatar - The Zlatar mountain range is breathtaking. Many locals go there and you can find meadows, lakes and forests. The fresh air there can make it seem like a spa location for people who want to relax and be surrounded by nature.
